Nsirim Tasks Security Agencies On Manhole Covers Theft
Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim, has called on the security agencies to ensure that those stealing manhole covers in Port Harcourt are arrested and prosecuted.
Nsirim said this in Port Harcourt while answering questions from newsmen during the inspection of the Rumuola and GRA flyovers as well as the Ezimgbu link road.
He said those who patronise those stealing the manhole covers should also be treated as common criminals.
The commissioner who described the cost of constructing the manhole covers as huge said time has come for communities to help safeguard government properties in their areas.
According to him, members of the civil populace must support government to safeguard amenities sited in their areas as well as help the government to stop the menace.
Meanwhile Rivers State Commissioner for Information and communications Pastor Paulinus Nsirim says Governor Nyesom Wike has restored Port Harcourt back to its Grader City status.
He told newsmen during the inspection exercise that the aesthetic condition of Port Harcourt has been restored.
Nsirim said the Governor’s Urban renewal programme has made Port Harcourt investors haven, stressing that thousands of people are coming into Port Harcourt everyday.
Nsirim said as a visionary leader, Governor Wike always thinks ahead on how to tackle congestion in the city, stressing that the various development projects have also reduced man hours
“Wike is a leader who is thinking about tomorrow”, he said.
