Army Donates Relief Materials To Orphans
The 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt, has restated its commitment to the welfare of Nigerians, particularly those within its area of responsibility in line with civil-military cooperation.
The General Officer Commanding, 6 Division of the Nigerian Army Port Harcourt, Major Gen. Sani Gambo Mohammed, made this known during the presentation of relief materials to Priesthood Orphanage Home at Elelenwo in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area on Wednesday, as part of Exercise 2021 Still Waters in Port Harcourt.
The GOC who was represented by the Garrison Commander, 6 Division, Nigerian Army, Brigadier Gen Muhammed Danja said the exercise which is to address the prevailing security challenges during Ember months also has the civil military responsibility by reaching out to the law abiding citizens of the society.
He said the motive of the exercise was also to catch them young, and commended the management of the orphanage home and promised that the division will always give its assistance.
In her address, the Civil Military Legal Officer, 6 Division, Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt, Capt. Seiyefa Amgbari said the visit of the division was to acknowledge the people who are needy as part of the civil military responsibility.
Capt Amgbari said if the military could show the orphans love, it would positively impact them because they are destined to be great in the society, adding that education of the children will also be the motive of the military
Earlier the Executive Director of Priesthood Orphanage, Blessing Echenwo commended Nigeria Army in curbing crimes in the society.
She said the relief materials donated would go a long way to uplift the welfare of the children.
