Amaechi Urges Women To Leave Memorable Legacies
Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has challenged Nigerian women on the need to leave memorable legacies to their families, communities, state and the nation while alive. Governor Amaechi gave this charge last Saturday, during the burial ceremony of Dr. Isabella Inyang, wife of the former General Manager of Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria (SPDC), Engr. Samuel Inyang at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State.

Tele Ikuru and his wife, Dr. Mina Ikuru, Governor Amaechi urged women to be beautiful physically and in character as to be close to their husbands’ heart in all circumstances, saying that it is in this wise that their spouses would see them above every other woman on earth.
He extolled the sterling virtues of Dr. Isabella as a woman who had achieved these qualities and had endeared herself to her husband, noting that her death would create a vacuum in Engr. Inyang’s life.
He, however, prayed God to give Engr. Inyang and his family the fortitude to bear the loss and for them to take solace in the fact that she lived sound christian life.
In his speech, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Barr. Godswill Akpabio, who was represented by his deputy, Mr Msima Ekere, said the family of Engr. Inyang and Akwa Ibom State had lost “a pillar of strength” by the exist of Dr Isabella, stating that they would only be consoled by the fact that her death had given them the opportunity to draw from the bank of heaven.
In his homily, the Bishop of Ikot Ekpene Diocese, Monsignor Sylvanus Etok expressed sadness that by the death of Dr Isabella, the Diocese had lost a gem, a woman of virture, stating that death is a pointer to the fact that the living should be God-fearing and that, “death has a role to play in the economy of salvation, indicates terror and translates the living to eternal rest.”
