Dep Chairmen Laud Wike Over Trans-Kalabari Road
As reactions continue to trail the recent flag off of the Trans-Kalabari highway by Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, Vice Chairman of Asari Toru Local Government Area, Hon. Wokoma Tekana and her counterpart, Hon. Maureen Harry, of Degema Local Government Area, have described the gesture as a milestone in the history of Rivers State.
The vice council chairman said this in an interview with newsmen in Port Harcourt last Wednesday.
Hon Tekana said the project will transform the entire Kalabari Kingdom, when completed.
According to her, the project is a laudable one and also coming at a time when most people believe that it has been abandoned.
The ASALGA vice chairman also said that Governor Wike’s infrastructural revolution has remained unbeatable in the annals of Rivers State, adding that the Kalabari people owe Governor Wike a lot, having fulfilled his promises to them.
“Today, an average Kalabari son and daughter feel elated that the dream they have been expecting has really come to pass, Governor Wike has made us proud,” she said.
Hon. Tekena said it was a thing of joy that some Kalabari communities will now be accessible by roads, stressing that even the economy of the area will also be boosted.
On her part, vice chairman of Degema local government area, Hon Maureen Harry said the people could not thank Governor Wike enough for bringing development closer to their door steps.
Harry also prayed God to give the governor more grace to carry on with the development of the state.
