SSANU Tasks RSU’s New Union Leaders On Service
The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), has urged newly elected officers of the union in the Rivers State University to see themselves as servants while discharging their functions and to work in synergy to pursue the welfare of members.
The National Vice Presi-dent of SSANU (North East), comrade Alhaji Isa who gave the charge during the election of new officers of the union in the Rivers State University, Port Harcourt las Thursday said there was the need for the officers to see themselves as servants and place the welfare of members above their personal needs and interest.
Comrade Isa equally enjoined them to uphold the constitution of the union at all times while discharging their duties.
On his part, the National Vice President of the union in the South-South, Comrade Cheta Azumah commended the elected officers for displaying the spirt of sportsmanship, and thanked the electoral committee for conducting a free and fair election.
In his post-election speech, the new Chairman of SSANU, Rivers State Uni-versity Chapter, Comrade Ene Aaron Osorochi thanked the members for ensuring that the new leaders emerged through a transparent process, and promised that his administration would give the welfare of members top priority.
He also promised that the present leadership would complete the ongoing secretariat complex project before the end of its tenure.
Among those elected include Comrade Ene, Aaron Osorochi, Chairman; Com-rade Wilcox Nuka Lenwi, Vice Chairman; Comrade Nnamdi Douglas, Secretary; and Comrade Victor Banigo, Public Relations Officer.
Others are Gospel Ajinwo, Assistant Secretary; Zagah Friday, Treasurer; Damiete Isokariari, Financial Secre-tary; Boma Samuel, Internal Auditor; Philip Woha Wogbo, Trustee; Victoria Lasisi, Women Leader; and Barivere, Ex-Officio.
