Court Restraints Youth Body
A Port Harcourt High Court presided over by Justice T. S. Oji, has granted an interim injunction, restraining Egita Youth Forum from participating in an election of the Egi Youth Federation scheduled to hold tomorrow.
The order, granted last Thursday, reads as follows: “That leave be and is granted the claimants/applicants an order of interim injunction restraining the defendant (Chief Israel Obunwa), either by himself or through his privies, assigns, servants or any person acting for that purpose especially Obinna Jockiel; however from submitting list of delegates of Egita Youth Forum and Egita Community Development Committee to the Egi Youth Federation Election fixed for 3rd day of July, 2011 or if already submitted be rejected/dishonoured by the ELECO chairman led by Dr Ugochukwu Agi pending the determination of the substantive suit.”
It further stated that the community head or chief should be asked to prevent the disobedience of the order, failing which will leave the court no alternative but to remand all the culprits.
