RSUBEB Raises Alarm Over Fake Pension Agents

The authorities of Rivers State Universal Basic Education Board (RSUBEB), Port Harcourt have raised alarm over individuals and groups parading themselves as pension agents in the board, saying that the board has not appointed any pension agent to facilitate the processing of retirees’benefits in the establishment
The Executive Chairman of the Board,Ven Fyneface Ndubuisi Akah stated this while speaking with journalists in Port Harcourt recently, explaining that persons or group of persons are not authorized to handle pension matters. He warned that any person arrested parading himself or herself as pension agent would be handed over for prosecution
“It has come to the knowledge of the management of the Rivers State UBE Board that certain persons both staff and non staff parade themselves as pension agent in the service of retirees .
“Such persons create the impression that they have the ability to speedily facilitate the processing of retirement benefits”.
In reality, they create bottlenecks and needlessly make the processing of retirees’benefits cumbersome”he stated
The RSUBEB helmsman warmed staff of the board, especially the pension unit who indulge in such act to desist or be prepared to face the full weight of the law. He urged the retirees to stop patronising those fake pension agents as the board will not be held responsible for any expenses incurred or delay in the processing of their benefits and entitlements
