Rivers Guber Polls …NNPP Blames Opposition’s Failure On Poor Preparations
Lack of adequate preparation by the opposition’s in Rivers State was one of the factors that made them not to make the desired impact in last general elections in the state.
The Rivers State Chairman of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), Deacon Princewill Enyie who stated this yesterday, noted that the opposition parties could not win a seat in the last election because they were not financially and humanly prepared enough for the elections.
Deacon Enyie noted that the Peoples Democratic Party was rooted and prepared, hence, the party came out victorious after the elections.
According to him, the issue was that PDP won but how prepared were other parties who contested the elections?
The NNPP chairman frowned at the attitude of some villagers who were demanding cash before casting their votes, stating that such attitude would not strength our democratic system.
He, however, sad his party was ready for tomorrow’s local government elections, stating that all the candidates had been screened and cleared for the elections.
Enyie said that the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) had assured the parties of free, fair, credible and qualitative local government elections tomorrow.
‘We have confidence on the calibre of the commission, they would not because of the local government election relegate their integrity”, he said.
He commended RSIEC for the payment of some fees to the parties to help cushion expenses incurred during preparations for the elections.
