Yoruba Community Solicits Support For Amaechi’s Govt
The Yoruba community in Rivers State, has called on the people, particularly politicians, at the state to join hands with Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi’s administration to move the state to more enviable state.
The group in a statement signed by its Secretary General, Hon Wole Agunbiade said there was need for all Rivers people to come together no matter his or her political or religious affiliation to rally round the governor for a more progressive government, as Governor Amaechi had in his recent broadcast proclaimed his victory at the just-concluded polls as victory for all.
The statement also said his doggedness in ensuring peace and security, approach to education, healthcare and trend of development had endured the Rivers people to give him second tenure, adding that “He is a good product that is marketable and his unprecedented achievements in the last three and half years did the campaign for him”.
“There is no doubt that he is an irresistible gift to Rivers State and we are very confident that he will continue on a larger scale the good work he has started,” the statement further said, and hailed him on his well deserved victory at the gubernatorial polls just conducted by INEC in the state, as well as National and State Assembly members-elect.
The body also commended President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on his landslide victory which cut across ethnic diversity showing his general acceptability in every part of the country.
