Fight Cultism, Corruption Clergy Task RSU Mgt
A clergy man in the state ,Rev( Dr) Nkem E .Osuigwe, has called on the management of the Rivers State University,Nkpolu Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt to rid the institution of cultism and corruption as the only way to express genuine gratitude and appreciation to God for unhindered blessings in the university.
Rev Osuigwe opined that corruption has become a major impediment to the growth of the society and urged the acting vice chancellor of the university to ensure that the school administration was free from all corrupt tendencies .
The man of God made the charge while speaking as a guest preacher during the 2020 edition of the annual thanksgiving /re-dedication service of the university held at Chapel of Redemption, in Port Harcourt ,yesterday with the theme “The Grateful Heart”.
The guest preacher whose message at the event centred on “a heart of gratitude” “urged the university authorities to ensure that they produced graduates of world class as that the only way their profile could increase among other highly rated universities across the globe even as he emphasised on teaching of right values in the institution.
Osuigwe urged the university to fashion out ways to boast the revenue profile rather than depending on the state government subvention by connecting with all critical stakeholders in the university as well as in research works which are global practices.
The guest preacher however commended the management of the university for setting out a day to express their gratitude to God for His benevolences to the institution ,adding that the more we appreciate God the more blessings we receive as He abhors ingratitude.
