Firm Plans Expansion To Create Jobs

The Nigerian Breweries Plc has concluded arrangement to embark on a higher level expansion at AMA brewery 9th Mile, Enugu State aimed at providing more jobs for the teeming unemployed youths in the state .
Brewery Manager, Engr. Peter Ani, who disclosed this recently on the occasion of the 2019 NB PLC Stakeholders Forum revealed that work on the expansion would commence in January 2020 to ensure early completion of the project.
Endr. Ani reasoned that early completion of work on the expansion would go a long way in enhancing the production of the Ama Brewery which was commissioned in 2003, pointing out that the company rolled out over 27 million cartons of different brands in 2019.
He maintained that since commencement of operations in 2003, the company had been operating on its own power supply and regretted that the present economic hardship in Nigeria had adversely affected the company in many ways.
Commending the governor of Enugu state, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, for creating conducive atmosphere for the brewery to operate, the manager promised that they would continue to carry out their social responsibility especially to the people of their host communities.
According to him, the company had built schools and donated them to the people of their host communities with a view to making life more meaningful to them.
‘’We will leave no stone unturned in supporting and sponsoring sports wherever we operate across the country’’, he assured.
