One-Year-Old Boy Goes Missing In Ondo Church
The Ondo State Police Command yesterday said it had begun investigations into the circumstance surrounding the missing of a one-year old boy, Gold Kolawole, at a popular church in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
It was gathered that mother of the missing boy took him to the church, known as ‘So Titobi Re Praising Chapel,’ on Sunday, but after the service, the little boy was missing.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr. Femi Joseph, who confirmed the incident, said men of the command had already swung into action to ensure that the missing boy is recovered.
He said, “Initially, the matter was not officially reported to us; but it was the pastor of the church that came to the Police station to report that the father of the missing boy, with some thugs, had invaded the church and destroyed their property.
“It was then that we were informed that the small boy was missing.
“But we have commenced action on how to rescue the boy and reunite him with his parents.”
Speaking on the development, the mother of the missing boy, Mrs. Modupe Kolawole, said, “On Sunday, we went to the church, and I took him (the missing child) to the children department.
“On getting there, I registered him. After about an hour, I went to check on him there and I saw him holding puffpuff and I asked one of the Sunday school teachers about it, and she told me that it was the church that gave the children the puffpuff. So I left them.
“After the service ended, I went there to pick my child but I did not find him.
“I asked the teachers, they said somebody probably took him out and I asked them why they allowed someone to take another person’s child out. Up until now, we have not found him.”
Mrs. Kolawole appealed to the security agencies in the state to assist her in finding her missing son.
