Foundation Wants Improved Healthcare For Rural Children
The Women of Purpose Development Foundation have called on the government and all stakeholders to provide adequate healthcare facilities for children in rural neighbourhoods across the country.
The President of the Foundation, Mrs Mabel Onwuemele, made the call yesterday during a medical outreach organised for children in Kushibuyi community in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
She underscored the need for all stakeholders to complement the government’s efforts to ensure the healthy living of all citizens, particularly the youth and children in rural communities who were the most vulnerable members of the society.
She said that sustained efforts should be particularly geared toward fighting child killer diseases and other illnesses which could affect the physical and cognitive development of the Nigerian child.
“This is because any investment in healthcare of the Nigerian child is not a wasted venture; such investments will definitely yield bountiful harvests in the overall well being of our nation,’’ she said.
