‘OurStateOurResponsibility’ Campaign: Nsirim Woos Academic Community
The Permanent Secretary, Rivers State Ministry of Information and Communications, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim, has tasked members of the academic community in Rivers State to see themselves as brand ambassadors of the state.
Nsirim said this during #OurStateOurResponsibility visit to the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Rumuolumeni, Port Harcourt.
The Permanent Secretary said the state was blessed with a Governor who had transformed the landscape of the state with policies and programmes, adding that these transformations must be positively projected across the world.
He said it was the responsibility of every stakeholder to join the campaign in changing the narrative about the state, stressing “that posterity will not forgive the people if they continue to allow the vocal minority to paint the state black”.
According to him, the state has been robbed of its dues, because of what he called partisan interest”, adding that the university community must key into the campaign.
“We want it to be in the psyche of everyone living and doing business in the state, what Rivers State is to all of us”, he said.
Responding, the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Ozor Mecuri Ndimele, said time for the campaign was now, stressing that the brand ambassadors campaign was not new to the university.
He said the situation has made the institution to attract students across Nigeria and beyond.
