Be Creative, LASG Charges Youths

The Lagos State Government on Sunday urged youths in the state to be creative to survive the present economic situation in the country.
The Special Adviser on Art and Culture to Government Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, Mr Solomon Bonu, gave the advice while addressing youths at the Green Independent programme, organised by Africa Clean Up Initiative in Bagagry.
According to the special adviser, “we don’t need to wait for government before we survive.
”You have to be creative to attract the attention of the government. You have to engage in doing something of your own after the youth service.
”Then, if government employment comes, fine; if it doesn’t come, life goes on.
”You must do something to create wealth to have a comfortable life,’’ he said.
Bonu commended the initiator of the programme and assured him that LASG would partner with his initiative to make life better for the youth in the state.
Also, the Managing Director, Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) Mr Muyiwa Gbadegesin, urged people in the coastal town to make their environment clean.
The MD said the residents should bag their waste and give them to Private Sector Participation operators who would now take them to designated landfills.
According to him, this will help to make the environment devoid of indiscriminate solid wastes hanging around.
Gbadegesin, who was represented by Mrs Bola Adewunmi, the Assistant Director, LAWMA, said LASG was partnering with Africa Clean Up initiative to clean up Sultan Beach as well as to sensitise the people on the need make their surroundings clean.
