Royal Father Tasks Nwuke On Dev
The traditional ruler and Ochimba of Ikwerrengwo Community in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State, Eze Felix Onyeche, has challenged Ogbonna Nwuke, the PDP candidate for Etche/Omuma federal constituency for House of Representatives to brace up to the task of developing Etche land. He also advised him to work in synergy with stakeholders in Etche land to achieve the much-needed development in the area.
Eze Onyeche gave the challenge when he visited Nwuke, the out-going commissioner for Commerce and Industry in Port Harcourt where he lauded Nwuke for his victory at the PDP primaries in Etche.
The royal father noted that what the people of Etche needed now is a unity of purpose to achieve greater development in Etche land.
The Ochimba of Ikwerrengwo also thanked Governor Chibuike Amachi for providing enabling environment for the success of the voters’ registration and promised to mobilise the people of Igbo Agwuru Asa to vote massively for Governor Amaechi, and other PDP candidates who have good intention for the people of Igbo Agwuru Asa and Etche ethic nationality.
In his response, Hon Nwuke thanked the Royal Father for the visit, attributing the success of Amaechi administration to his visionary leadership.
According to him, Etche people have never had it right until Amaechi administration came on board.
He said 64 Etche indigenes and 36 from Omuma LGA have so far benefited from oversea scholarship programme of Governor Amaechi administration, adding that the administration have also embarked on road projects health centre and modern primary school projects to centre for the needs of both the people of Etche and Omuma LGAs.

RSG INAUGURATES ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY COMMITTEE
The Rivers State Government has inaugurated a Central Planning Committee to organize the celebration of the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day (AFRD) in the State.
The committee was formally inaugurated by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Benibo Anabraba in Port Harcourt, last Thursday.
Dr Anabraba who also serves as Chairman of the Committee
highlighted the State Government’s deep appreciation for the sacrifices of Nigeria’s fallen heroes who laid down their lives for the nation’s peace and unity.
“These heroes have given their lives for the security and peace of our nation and deserve to be celebrated. The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is an opportunity to show our gratitude for their sacrifice,” he said.
Dr. Anabraba further extended recognition to all Security Agencies in the State, emphasizing the importance of the event in appreciating their contributions to national security and sovereignty.
The annual Armed Forces Remembrance Day, observed on January 15 across the country is dedicated to remember Nigeria’s departed soldiers and honouring the nation’s veterans.
