INEC To Release List Of Party Flagbearers, Today
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has concluded plans to release today the list of party flagbearers in the April general elections.
A reliable source at INEC headquarters in Abuja told our correspondent that the comprehensive list was dispatched to the states yesterday for immediate display to the public.
Although the source did not offer further details, he referred our correspondent to the states for any inquiry on the list of the candidates.
At the INEC office in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, a source confirmed yesterday that the list of successful party flagbearers would be released today but said the commission was expecting it as it was dispatched late evening from the head office in Abuja.
The expected release of names of bearers of party tickets for the April general elections is coming on the heels of controversies surrounding the just-concluded party primaries in various states of the federation.
While some politicians are rejoicing for what they consider merited victories at the primaries, others were seeking intervention of the court for what they consider as outright injustice during the primaries.
