Key Into ‘Operation Sting’, Woke Charges Rivers Monarchs

The Chief of Staff to the Rivers State Governor, Engr. Chukwuemeka Woke has called on all traditional rulers in the state to key into the recently launched ‘Operation Sting’ for the promotion of security in all communities in the state.
Speaking during the Traditional New Yam Festival of Erema Ancient Town, the Egwu Ogba, in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area, yesterday, Woke advised traditional rulers to partner with the Rivers State Government to achieve peace across the state.
He said: “Let me use this opportunity to reach out to all traditional rulers in different communities of the state to key into the ‘Operation Sting’ for peace in the localities.
“The state government will not tolerate any form of cultism or insecurity in any community. The government is determined to fight every form of insecurity”.
He said that the Rivers State Government was working hard to build investors’ confidence in the state.
“We are working to build and sustain investors’ confidence in the state. With improved security, more investors will return to the state. More investors in the state will create employment opportunities for the youths”, he said.
He commended the paramount ruler of Erema Town for maintaining peace in the community, adding that the successful celebration of the New Yam Festival signifies the promotion of culture and the celebration of peace.
He urged the Paramount Ruler of Erema Town, Eze Azubuike Princewill to reach out to other traditional rulers in the area on the need to promote peace and security.
In his response, the Paramount Ruler of Erema Town, Eze Azubuike Princewill assured Woke that the people of the area would continue to support Governor Nyesom Wike beyond 2023.
Princewill said that since 2015, Erema people have always supported the governor because they believe in his capacity to deliver good governance in the state.
He said the large turnout of Erema people to celebrate the visit of the Chief of Staff to the Rivers State governor signified their unflinching commitment to the Wike-led administration.
It would be recalled that the Traditional New Yam Festival of Erema Ancient Town is a high-profile cultural event in the area that celebrates productivity and hard work.
All families are expected to celebrate the Egwu Ogba within their means.
