Bishop Cautions FG Over Ex-militants’ Up-Keep
The former senior Special Assistant to the Rivers State Governor on Religious Matters and a Bishop of an International Church, Dr. Friday Nwator, has cautioned the Federal Government against the continuous payment of stipends to ex-militants in the Niger Delta.
Bishop Nwator who bared his mind at a church service in Port Harcourt, said that the ex-militants required permanent solution not monetary reward.
According to him, the ex-militants need to be impacted with useful skills that would enable them to contribute positively towards the development of the society.
He also called for forgiveness of the ex-militants of their perceived sins, for he said that is the only way to attract the blessings of God in their lives.
Also speaking, the Archbishop in charge of African Continent in the Wesley Synod of England, Archbishop Nwabueze described Nigeria is a special country to God, adding that God has chosen the nation as a vessel to liberate the African continent from ignorance.
He also charged those entrusted with responsibilities to carry them out diligently in order to improve the lots of the people.
The Archbishop who spoke on the topic: “God Sovereign Choice,” described the calling of God as special, to those who can do his work.
High point of the service was the election of Dr. Ralph John as a bishop of Wesley Synod of King of Glory mission in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
