Abide By Safety Rules, FRSC Urges Motorists
The Rivers State Command of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has mandated motorists and road users to maintain the rules of safety techniques to avoid human factor accidents.
The corps Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mrs Nnenne Ugwumba gave the change in Port Harcourt in an interview with The Tide during the week.
She said that the issue of safety is for everyone to abide by the rules, stressing that human factor contribute immensely to the major auto crashes being experienced on the roads.
According to her, most of the human factors include failure of motorists and road users to maintain the standard speed limit while driving, overloading, drunk-driving and making phone calls while-on steering and general indiscipline among other factors.
The PRO recalled that since the banning of motorcycles (Okada) came into force in Port Harcourt, the high rate of accidents previously experienced on the roads have reduced
