Commissioner Lauds Ayade’s Labour-Friendly Disposition
The Cross River State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mrs. Rosemary Archibong has commended the disposition of Governor Ben Ayade towards the welfare of workers in the state.
Mrs. Archibong gave the commendation when she declared open the Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers Union (RATTAWU), Cross River State Council’s 9th Triennial State Delegate Conference, held recently, at the NLC Solidarity House, Calabar.
The Commissioner, who thanked Governor Ayade for facilitating the speedy construction and completion of the ultra-modern secretariat (NLC Solidarity House) for the State Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress, also stated that the Governor’s inclination towards a robust and better workforce in Cross River State had been orchestrated through prompt and regular payment of salaries and the entrenchment of employment of thousands of Cross Riverians; a feat which has earned him (Governor Ayade) the Best Labour Friendly Governor Award.
She also lauded the Comrade John Ushie-led State NLC for its synergy and cordial relationship with the government, a situation she maintained, had made for a productive and prosperous Cross River State.
Declaring the event open, the Information and Orientation boss used the opportunity to call on all Labour-affiliated bodies to continue to be supportive of the policies, programmes and activities of the Ayade-led administration, which she said, were aimed at charting a new course of industrialization for economic prosperity of the state.
