RSU VC Assures On Academic, Moral Rectitude …Receives Accreditation Certificate For Courses
The authorities of Rivers State University have expressed its commitment to instill both academic and moral rectitude in the university as a key tenet of Christian practice
The Vice Chancellor of the university Prof Blessing Chimezie Didia made this known while playing host to the leadership of Holiness Revival Movement World- Wide Church, which paid him a courtesy visit in his office ,over the weekend in Port Harcourt.
Prof. Didia said his administration was ordained by God and would do everything possible in the promotion and propagation of Godly attributes in the University and beyond.
Prof. Didia who commended the group for their good work in the State, enjoined them not to relent in teaching the younger ones on the dangers associated with activities inimical with the growth of the society as well as capable to mar their future.
Earlier,the team leader of the Holiness Revival Movement World wide, Pastor Obi Obiasor commended the Vice Chancellor for initiating the University Annual Thanksgiving / Rededication Services , which according to him ,was a precursor to understanding the Vice chancellor’s passion for not just academic excellence for the students but also spiritual excellence.
He pledged that his ministry will help to reposition the students for academic excellence while exposing them to Christian lifestyle.
Meanwhile, the Rivers State University has been given full accreditation to award International Diploma and International Advance Diploma in Transport and Logistics.
This followed the presentation of the accreditation certificate to the Vice chancellor Professor Blessing Didia by the Chatered Institute of Logistics and Transport.
Receiving the certificate, Professor Blessing Didia said the establishment of the Institute for Logistics and Transport was long overdue in view of the strategic position of Rivers State, describing the accreditation as a major milestone in the University.
Earlier, the Deputy National Director of Chattered Institute of logistics and transport, Alban Igwe, explained that the accreditation is for an initial period of three years, while urging the University to ensure its renewal and take advantage of the opportunities provided by the Institute to improve the lots of students and lecturers.
