SUG President Urges Students To Shun Cultism, Other Vices

The newly elected Students Union Government (SUG) President of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUOE), Rumuolumeni, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Comrade Dumbari Nmah Dominic, has called on the students of the institution to shun all forms of examination malpractices, cultism and other social vices that are capable of affecting and jeopardising their academic future and ruin their careers.
Dumbari made this call while speaking with journalists shortly after he was sworn-in as the new SUG President of IAUOE along side other elected executives of the students union held at the IAUOE campus in Port Harcourt, Wednesday.
He averred that the hall-mark of every student in the university was the academic pursuit and urged them to take their studies and reading seriously in order to brighten their future and endeavours.
“We all need to take our studies, lectures and reading seriously because that is the most important thing that brought all of us here before any other taddes”, he said.
The IAUOE student leader expressed profound gratitude to the management of the university ably led by Prof Ozo-Mekuri Ndimele for not being partisan during the electioneering period, adding that their neutrality in the election had brought credibility to the electoral process.
Dumbari while commending the management and students for the confidence reposed in the new SUG executives assured that his administration would justify the confidence reposed in the new executive and ensure that all the interest groups in the university are protected within the period of their mandate in office.
