FRSC Begins ‘Operation Show Your Driver’s Licence’ Among Staff
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has commenced ‘Operation show your drivers licence’ among its staff to ensure the personnel have valid drivers licences.
The FRSC Lagos State Sector Commander, Mr Hyginus Omeje made the disclosure on Monday, during the 1st Quarter 2019 Retreat with the theme: “Achieving FRSC 2019 Corporate Strategic Goals – The Way Forward”, in Lagos.
Omeje said that members of staff must have driver’s licence and valid vehicle particulars before driving into FRSC office premises.
“All staff must have driver’s licence and valid vehicle particulars before driving into FRSC offices.
“You don’t drive into FRSC without valid driver’s licence, and you can’t be FRSC staff issuing driver’s licence, go out and book others, without you having such particulars.
“When you go back to your various commands, make sure you follow the procedure,” he said.
Omeje told the personnel to ensure the process was carried out in all commands throughout the state.
The sector commander also charged the officers and unit commanders to curb the menace of overloading from the motor parks.
“We need to check overloading from the motor parks, with pictorial evidence shown to their park leaders. I think this will reduce the menace to the barest minimum,” he said.
Omeje said that FRSC operations would now be technologically inclined to ensure sanity on the roads.
He also said there was the need to go back to the parks through the park advocacy programme, as part of efforts to curb overloading.
