Nigeria Rope Skipping Federation Ready To Host Africa
The Nigeria Rope Skipping Federation (NRSF) said on Monday in Lagos that it had concluded plans to organise the African Rope Skipping workshop from February. 18 to February 20.
Secretary of the Federation, Olusesan Olukoya, told newsmen that the three-day event would hold at Rowe Park in Yaba.
Olukoya said that officials and athletes from over 10 countries would take part in the workshop, while seasoned coaches and officials from France, UK and the U.S. would handle the programme.
“This is the first time a workshop of this calibre will hold to establish and showcase the sport in Africa.
“Nigeria and Ghana were nominated as the two likely hosts of the workshop in 2018 but other African countries insisted Nigeria hosts it.
“More than 10 African countries have already indicated interest in the workshop and hopefully more countries will be part of it, so they can also benefit from the training.
“The event will help to develop talents, enhance physical fitness, good personal growth and development and other numerous benefits to individuals,” he said.
Olukoya appealed to corporate bodies and individuals to partner the federation in promoting the sport in the country.
