Nwanosike Berates Buhari Over Attempt To Cling On To Power
The Executive Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, Hon Samuel Nwanosike, has berated President Muhammadu Buhari over his desperation to remain in power by all means.
Nwanosike, speaking at Apani Community during the Ikwerre LGA PDP Ward-to-Ward Campaign Rally, last Monday, stated that Buhari’s desperation for power has made him to tactically dictate to the security operatives and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) what they should do.
He noted that the ongoing unjust persecution of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen, was a calculated attempt by the President to take over the Judiciary so he could rig himself into power and triumph in court, if challenged after the February 16 elections.
The chairman called on the CJN and other judges not to be cowed by Buhari’s antics.
Nwanosike, however, thanked the people of Ward 6 (Apani) for standing firmly with one of their own (Hon Anselem Oguguo), who is vying for a election into the Rivers State House of Assembly, advising them to give Oguguo and all the party’s candidates their 100 per cent votes.
Earlier, the PDP Chairman for Ward 6, Rowland Wachukwu, had in his opening remarks, assured that Apani Community was totally for PDP.
In his solidarity speech, Chief Peter Didia assured that the ward would collectively give its votes to all the PDP candidates.
Also speaking, Coordinator of Ikwerre LGA PDP Campaign Council, Hon Austin Obusike Wogugu, during his presentation of PDP candidate for Ikwerre/Emohua Federal Constituency, Barrister Boniface Sunday Emerengwa, and the PDP candidate for Ikwerre Constituency in Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon Anselem Oguguo, expressed optimism that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Gov Nyesom Wike, Senator George Thompson Sekibo, Emerengwa and Oguguo would win in the ward during the February 16 and March 2, general elections.
