Rivers Dep Gov Lauds House Of Assembly
Rivers State Deputy Governor, Dr (Mrs) Ipalibo Harry Banigo has commended the Rivers State House of Assembly for supporting Governor Nyesom Wike to ensure that Rivers resources were used to develop Rivers State.
Dr Banigo stated this while playing host to members of the Rivers State House of Assembly House Committee on the Office of the Deputy Governor at the Government House in Port Harcourt, last Friday.
She said the commitment of the present administration to ensure that the Rivers people benefited maximally in terms of human capital and infrastructural development is total, stressing that never again would the resources of the State be allowed to be carted away like what the past administration did.
According to her, the state would never play the second fiddle in terms of citizenship in Nigeria, noting that Rivers State deserved its rights and place.
In his remarks the Deputy Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly and Chairman House Committee on the Office of the Deputy Governor, Hon. Marshall Uwom, said they were in the Office of the Deputy Governor in compliance with the statutory requirements provided by the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to visit, interface and ensure the synergy between the legislature and the executive.
He commended the executive for the budgeting system especially, in the area of budget implementation.
