Girl In Police Net For Killing Father
An unidentified 14-year-old girl has been arrested by the police in Delta State for allegedly stabbing a man believed to be her father to death in the Cable Point area of Asaba, the state capital.
It was gathered that trouble erupted last Thursday evening when the man disciplined her for an offence she committed before he went to sleep.
It was gathered that the girl, who was unhappy with the development, waited until he was asleep before stabbing him to death with a knife.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Andrew Aniamaka, who confirmed the incident, bemoaned the crime rate in the state, especially among youths.
Aniamaka said, “I don’t have information if the deceased was the girl’s father. But all we know for now is that he was related to her. Imagine a small girl stabbing her relative to death. The other day, it was killing of a Delta State University student. Where are we heading to?’’
He also appealed to parents to continue monitoring their children, advising ladies to be wary of the men they date.
