N’Delta Ex- Agitators Assure On Peace In Rivers
Following the recent appointment of new leaders of the Niger Delta Ex-Agitators Leadership Forum by the Special Adviser to the President and Coordinator of the Federal Government Amnesty Programme ,Prof. Charles Quaker Dokubo, the Rivers State Chairman of the forum, Hon. Nwogu Justice has assured that the body would work for the peace of the state.
The State Chairman, who gave the assurance while speaking with newsmen at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa said members of the forum would work together to make sure that there is peace in the state.
According to him, the forum would work with the state government under the watch of Governor NyesomWike to ensure that total peace reigns in the State.
Hon. Justice, who is also known as General King Jay equally promised that the forum would partner with security agencies in the country to promote peace in both Rivers State and the Niger Delta.
‘’ I am glad in my heart because all have worked out according to God’s plan. As it stands today, we are back from Abuja and we have promised to carry all the Ex-Agitators along for peace to reign in Rivers State and the Niger Delta at large’’,he said, and commended President Muhammadu Buhari for appointing Prof. Charles Dokubo as coordinator of the Amnesty Programme.
It would be recalled that Prof. Dokubo had recently appointed new leaders for the forum with High Chief Selky Kle Torughedi as National Chairman and Hon. Nwogu Justice as National Secretary and Rivers State Chairman of the forum. He also appointed state chairmen and coordinators of the forum.
