Nigerians have been advised to stop complaining about the deplorable state of affairs in the country and take practical steps needed to change the situation.
The Director-General of Wike For Positive Change, Prof. Atuboyedia Obianime gave the advice during a voter sensitisation programme in Oyigbo Local Government Area recently.
Prof. Obianime who led some members of the Board of Trustees and the National Executive Council of the organization said that Nigerians should be angry enough to change the current order in the country by appropriating the powers of the voters’ card.
He said that even when the Federal Government controls the military that is beginning to be more visible at elections, the voters’ card is more powerful as it will be used to change the office that controls them.
He charged all progressive political parties and agencies to be more involved in the mobilization of voters with the ultimate purpose of making the people to participate more in choosing their leaders.
According to him, the Wike For Positive Change Organization was on a massive grassroots mobilization in support of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) and Governor Nyesom Wike who has performed excellently and deserves the appreciation of all well-meaning Rivers people. He said that a vote for Governor Wike is a vote for the best interest of the Rivers people because they would be giving him another opportunity to provide massive development in all the sectors and sections of Rivers State.
