Late Aide Worked Hard For Rivers -Wike
The Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike has described late Godwin Nwanyanwu as a good man, who contributed to the running of his administration.
Wike, who spoke during the burial of the deceased at Ulakwo in Etche Local Government Area, said the late Nwanyanwu would be missed for his dedication.
Represented by Commissioner for Agriculture, Charles Nworgu, the governor said the late Etche-born politician left behind a legacy within the period he served in his government as special adviser.
While stating that death was a price to be paid by all mortals, he prayed God to grant the family the strength and perseverance to bear the loss.
Also speaking, elder statesman, Prince Emma Anyanwu described the late adviser to the governor as a humble man, who contributed to the stability of the government and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He expressed sadness over his demise, and promised to assist the family in his little way to help ameliorate their sufferings.
In his funeral service, Pastor Grant Ebah from Salvation Ministries called on Christians to serve God according to His commandments.
He stressed that those who live their lives according to the tenets of God do not die but translate to glory.
According to him, “Christians in Christ do not die, they translate to glory. We are created for the pleasure of God, and any life not lived in Christ is worthless. Any man that has given his life to Christ is a saint.”
The man of God said from the testimonies of those who spoke at the funeral, it was obvious that the deceased lived his life for Jesus Christ.
Other dignitaries at the occasion include House of Assembly member, Nnana Opurum; Etche Local Government Chairman, Obinna Anyanwu; House of Reps member, Jerome Eke; former commissioner, Ephraim Nwuzi, Hon Andy Wanjoku and aides to Governor Wike.
