CHAMS Deploys ATM Machines
CHAMS Plc, one of Nigeria’s leading Information Technology firms, has commenced the deployment of Automated Teller Machines (ATM) following the award of independent automated teller machine deployer licence by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The Managing Director, CHAMS, Mr Demola, Alademoko who revealed this Tuesday, at the firms annual general meeting in Abuja revealed that the company had opened two huge information technology malls in Port Harcourt and Benin.
Known as chamscity, the firm’s IT malls were equipped with hundreds of computers that were deployed for various needs including data processing, recruitment among others.
Aladekomo noted that the building of these infrastructure gulped a good proportion of the company’s finances in 2009 stating that it was partly responsible for its modest turnover of N988.62 million for the 2009 accounting year.
“The report shows a decline of over N1.3 billion compared to the N2.4 billion recorded in the year 2008”, he said.
CHAMS, according to him is set to post better results for the 2010 accounting year as it had learnt to convert challenges to opportunities and signing of some new deals within the period.
The deals, Aladekomo said helped the signing of $26 million partnership with Daewoo International and Bitel, award of SIM card registration contract by the Nigerian Communication, of Universal Service Provision Fund Communication centres.
“Despite the challenges of the past year, the company’s focus in 2010 is to improve the financial and operating performance as part of our commitment towards creating value for our stakeholders. We shall reenergise the group for improved performance to further elevate the nation’s IT level”, he stated.
