Sharks Confront Stella FC, Today
Sharks Football Club of Port Harcourt would today lock horns with Stella Club d’Ajame of Ivory Coast in the second leg, third round of the West African Club competition.
The encounter which was earlier scheduled penultimate weekend was postponed by the West African Union for undisclosed reasons.
According to information reaching Tidesports, a Sharks contingent led by Coach John Obuh landed in Abidjan on Monday evening.
The team then proceeded to the Hammanith Hotel where they are expected to stay.
Idaa Confidence, a club official, told Tidesports that although the team was not impressed with the reception they received from their hosts, they would ensure that they win the match.
Idaa said the team had prepared well for the match and would aim for a victory at the blast of the referee’s whistle.
“We are not impressed with the reception we got, when we arrived here, especially the hotel which we are lodged, but we would not let that to affect our performance on Wednesday, he said.
The Port Harcourt based team defeated Stella FC 5-0 in the first leg encounter at the Sharks Stadium fortnight ago.
The team also travelled with a bulk of those –players who caused a lot of troubles to the Ivorians.
