Body Donates Borehole, Cash To Charity Homes
A South African-based Christian Church, Christ Amazing Love Ministries, has donated materials and cash worth millions of naira to seven Charity Homes in Rivers State.
Similarly, a water borehole was also donated by the Ministry to Sholom Child Centre, Okehi Etche.
The other benefiting Homes were the Adventist Rehabilitation Welfare Motherless Babies Home Edeoha Ahoada, Destiny Child Motherless Babies Home, Ulakwo also in Etche and Child Special School Kaduna Street, Port Harcourt.
The rest were the Special School for the Handicapped Children, Creek Road, Port Harcourt, Compassion Home, Nkpogu, Port Harcourt and Orphanage /Destitute Home, Amadi Ama, also in Port Harcourt.
The General Overseer of the Ministries, Pastor Kenneth Okonkwo, who personally led the Ministries team to the various Homes said that it was the tradition of the church to identify with the less privileged in the society.
He said that the Ministries which has been in existence in the last four years has spent more than half a million Dollar on Charity, while seven thousand dollars are being spent monthly for Charity.
The man of God further emphasised that the scheme will be expanded next year to cover all Charity Homes in the state.
In their separate speeches, the administrators and matrons of the various Homes thanked the church for coming all the way from South Africa to identify with them and urged for it to be sustained.

Technology Key to Nigeria’s Socio-Economic Development, Says Computer Scientist
Dr. Legborsi Emmanuel, former state Chairman of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), has emphasized that technology is the sure way for Nigeria’s socio-economic development.
He made this assertion while speaking with newsmen at the sideline of 118th inaugural lecture series of Rivers State University (RSU) held in port Harcourt, wednesday.
He stressed that the lecture, which focused on emerging technology and its impact on the socio-economic development of the country, aligns with the NCS’s economic focus.
He highlighted the importance of building an economy driven by technology, citing the success of the Rivers State Smart Economy policy as an example.
The computer scientist emphasized the need for innovation and doing things differently, asserting that “technology is the only way out” for Nigeria’s development. He praised the lecturer, Professor Mathias Daniel, for exploring the applications of technology in various sectors, including agriculture, industry, transport, and socio-economics.
Dr. Emmanuel underscores the critical role technology plays in driving socio-economic growth and development in Nigeria by leveraging technology, the country can unlock new opportunities and address pressing challenges.
