Ex-Councillors Endorse Wike For Second Term
Former councillors in the 11 Wards in Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area of Rivers State under the aegis of Opobo/Nkoro Councillors Forum have formally endorsed the re-election bid of the state Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the state for 2019 general elections.
Speaking with The Tide in an interview, chairman of the forum, Senibo Daniel Legg-Jack, who expressed gratitude to the councilors for their endorsement and support during a meeting with the forum in Opobo Town, reiterated that the All Progressives Congress (APC) stood no chance in winning the 2019 governorship elections.
He expressed appreciation for the vote of confidence passed on the governor, noting that their support would spur him to do more exploits in the development of the state.
Legg-Jack, who noted that even key opposition members were endorsing him, disclosed that there would be more endorsements as the election approached.
Describing the councillors as critical builders of democracy, he charged them to mobilise the people at the grassroots and ensure that they delivered their units, wards and Local Government Area in the coming polls.
“APC does not stand a chance in Rivers State, the sooner the APC at the national level realised that anything they do is a wasted effort, the better for them. Federal might does not vote. We (PDP family) are at the back of Governor Wike’s relection next year”, Legg-Jack stated.
The chairman urged them to mobilise their people at the grassroots and take charge of their units and communities on the election day and ensure they cast their votes.
The chairman, however, charged members of the forum to mobilise their supporters at the grassroots and take charge of their units and communities on the election day and ensure that they cast and protect their votes.
Meanwhile, Senibo Daniel Legg-Jack has advised voters in Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area not to sell their voters cards to anybody.
