Banigo Lauds Wike Over Location Of Police Command In Degema
The Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Dr Ipalibo Harry Banigo has commended the Governor, Chief Nyeom Wike for making it possible for the headquarters of the newly created Area Command of the Nigeria Police Force to be sited in the Degema Consulate.
Banigo gave this commendation during a facility tour of the Degema Consulate to identify, rehabilitate and allocate appropriate buildings to accommodate the new area command in preparation for the smooth take off of the command, last Wednesday.
“We want to use this opportunity to thank His Excellency for making it possible for the area command headquarters of the Nigerian Police to be sited in Degema, area command means it will carter for five contiguous local government areas”, she said.
According to the deputy governor, “for the past 12 to 15 months, we have not had security challenges on the Ogbakiri-Kalabari route because of the level of support Governor Wike gives to the security agencies, and we thank him for his commitments”, she further stressed.
Banigo urged the various Kalabari communities to maintain the peace, and tasked the youth to be of good conduct in order to attract more development projects into the area.
The area command is set to commence operations immediately, following the allocation of office and residential accommodation to the personnel.
