Opponents Plan To Spy On Morocco
Morocco’s 2018 World Cup opponents are set to send spies to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the North Africans when they face Serbia in a friendly next month.
This is according to Moroccan media which point out that the Atlas Lions’ Group B opponents, Spain, Iran and Portugal, are looking to find any edge they can between now and the tournament in Russia.
It is reported that Iran coach Carlos Queiroz has mandated his deputy, Andrade Da Cruz, to attend the clash between Morocco and Serbia on March 23 in Turin. Iran and Morocco will meet in the first Group B game in Saint Petersburg on June 15.
Spain coach Julen Lopetegui will send two members of his technical staff to Italy for the game, as will Portuguese coach Fernando Santos. The Atlas Lions will face Portugal on June 20, followed by Spain five days later.
Al Ahdath adds that Morocco coach Herve Renard will also be sending representatives to watch their opponents in friendly action: Portugal and Spain will play Egypt and Germany respectively on March 23, while Iran will face Tunisia on the same day.
