RSG New Water Scheme Kicks Off
A new Rural Water Scheme initiated by the Rivers State Government has finally taken-off in Gokana Local government Area of the State.
The new Water Scheme has stations in Bodo, Yeghe, Terebor and Deekeen Communities and is expected to spread to other villages and towns by next year.
This was disclosed by the Permanent Secretary, Rivers State Ministry of Water Resources, Mr. Ijeoma Samuel, in Gokana, when he led a team of engineers from the Ministry, the Supervising consultants, and contractors bidding for the job to Gokana local Government Area.
Speaking during a visit to the Chairman of Gokana local Government Area, Hon. Victor Giadom, the permanent Secretary, who represented the Hon. Commissioner, Miss Patricia Simon-Hart, stated that the purpose of the visit was to familiarize the contractors with the sites for the projects.
The permanent Secretary assured that the Gokana Water Project showcase the standard and quality of rural community water projects the present administration would execute in the State, reiterating the present administration’s determination to provide clean water and sanitation for the people.
