Wike Recommits To Ogoni-Andoni-Opobo Road Completion
The Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike has assured the people of Opobo that the Ogoni-Andoni-Opobo Road otherwise called the Unity Road will be completed by his administration as a way of developing the economy of the area.
The governor stated that funding for the project will be sustained because it forms one of the critical empowerment projects of the administration.
Speaking during the Golden Jubilee Anniversary and Thanksgiving Service of Commissioner-Designate, Dr Tamunosisi Gogo-Jaja at St. Barnabas’ Anglican Church, Port Harcourt, the governor said: “This administration will complete the Ogoni-Andoni-Opobo Unity Road because it is necessary to kick-start the economy of communities along that route.
“The contractors are on the field working, and we are committed to the funding of the project. We promised to complete the project, and we shall complete it. We want to end the situation where the road is used as an item for endless political campaigns”.
The governor, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Engineer Chukwuemeka Woke said that his administration will continue to execute key projects in all the 23 local government areas of the state.
According to him, the 175 basic schools being reconstructed and rehabilitated by the Rivers State Government cut across all local government areas.
He added that work at the general hospitals in Opobo and Ngo have reached advanced stage, pointing out that the two health facilities will be equipped to offer quality secondary healthcare services to the people.
On Dr Tamunosisi Gogo-Jaja, the governor described him as a principled politician who has contributed his quota to the development of the state.
