RSSSB Commissions Laboratory Facility In School
The Chairman of Rivers State Senior Secondary Schools Board (RSSB), Chief David Briggs, has commissioned a computer-based laboratory facility at Kalabari National College, Buguma in Asari Toru Local Government Area of the State, with a call on communities in the state to ensure that schools located in their environment are protected.
The new laboratory facility, equipped with modern facilities was donated to the Kalabari National college by the Daba and Orlando Foundation.
Briggs, who made the call while commissioning the new laboratory, facility donated to the college last Wednesday in Buguma, decried the spate of vandalisation of school properties across the state.
He stated that there was the need for communities to set up security in order to protect government properties sited in their domains, adding that the measures will help to avert incessant robberies and vandalisation of school properties.
The RSSSB helmsman commended the Daba and Orlando Foundation for remembering their alma mater by donating the laboratory facilities adding that the new, laboratory will improve the standard of education and enhance learning in the school. He used the opportunity to call on the Old Boys Association of the school to emulate the donors and support the school for development.
Also speaking at the occasion, the Founder of Daba and Orlando Foundation, Tein Orlando George said the donation was part of his organisation’s contribution to the development of education in the state. In her remarks, the principal of the college, Mrs Sunday Ba Prince Dateme said the new laboratory facilities will enhance the standard of education as well as assist students of the college excel more in sciences. She thanked the donors for their kind gesture, adding that the equipment will be judiciously put to use.
