Osinbajo’s Visit To Etche, Historic-Anyanwu

The visit of Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo to Etche last Thursday, has been described as “historic” and one that will remain indelible in the minds of the people.
The Acting President commissioned the Chokocho-Umuechem-Ozuzu and Igbo Etche-Chokocho-Rumuokwurusi Interchange roads in both Etche and Obio/Akpor Local Government Areas during the visit.
The people of Etche Ethnic Nationality came out in their large numbers to give the visiting Acting President a rousing welcome.
In a statement issued in Port Harcourt by an elder statesman, Prince Emma Anyanwu, he said the visit of the Acting President could not have come at a better time, especially as the people have never had it so good under any administration.
“This is the first time a sitting President will be visiting Etche in over fifty years. We have never had such an opportunity for a president to visit Etche in his official capacity.
“The latest feat is achieved by the love Governor Nyesom Wike has shown to the people of Etche Ethnic Nationality.
“A little that was close to this was when shortly after independence, Chief J.H. Nwuke, brought our former national leader, then ceremonial President, Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe to Etche.
“This historic visit has placed Etche in the national limelight. Etche people are eternally grateful to Governor Wike for creating a record during his tenure”, the statement added.
Prince Anyanwu, who was full of praises for Governor Nyesom Wike, said he has shown tremendous concern about the human capacity development of Etche people and provision of infrastructural facilities in the area.
“With the commissioning of Chokocho-Igbo Etche- Rumuokwurusi and Chokocho-Umuechem-Ozuzu roads, alongside other projects, Governor Wike has wiped away the tears of Etche people and given us a sense of belonging”, he stressed.
