GDI Lauds Wike Over Igbo- Etche Road Project
The Grassroots Democratic Initiative (GDI) Ward 3, Igbo 1 in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State, has lauded the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike for the speedy delivery of the Chokocha-Igbo-Etche- Eleme junction link road.
The Coordinator of GDI Ward 3, Igbo 1, Atuegbu Promise Lawson, who spoke with The Tide in an interview, Wednesday, said the delivery of the road project was a demonstration of Governor Wike’s effort to urbanise the rural areas in Rivers State.
The Coordinator said the road had over the years been neglected by previous administrations leading to untold suffering by the users.
He added that the construction of the road project had upgraded the standard of living of the people and appealed to the Governor to also construct the Imeh-Chokota-Ikwerre-Ngwo-Umuebulu (Aba road) to make life more meaningful for the people.
The body also endorsed Governor Wike for a second term in office and pledged their unalloyed support to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) government in the state.
Secretary of the GDI, Ward Igboh 1, Etche, Prince Promise Nwafor, who also spoke with The Tide, stated that Governor Wike’s track record in infrastructural development in Rivers State was a clear testimony of the Governor’s commitment to transforming all parts of the state.
Also speaking, a Youth Leader in the Area, Comrade Anayo Nweke, described the governor’s projects in Rivers State as testimonies of good Governance, noting that the hosting of the Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, for the commissioning of the Chokocho, Igbo Etche road projects, among other people-oriented projects in the state was an indication that Governor Wike’s development stride was “broad-based and devoid of partisan undertone”.
