Firm Begins Work On Eleme Road …Promises To Deliver Quality Job
Commuters plying Eleme Road, especially from Akpajo-Refinery Junction of the East-West Road, will soon be saved the untold difficulties they face as a result of the deplorable state of the road.
This follows the speedy delivery of the remediation work on the road to ease vehicular movement and alleviate the sufferings of the road users.
A visit to the road at the weekend indicated that the construction company, Wester Limited, is committed to the delivery of the work according to specification and on time.
One of the site engineers, who spoke with The Tide, yesterday, on condition of anonymity said the company was determined to ensure that the worst affected part of the road is fixed to ease vehicular movement and rid the road of the traffic grid lock that is always regular on the road.
“As you can see, we are working hard to ensure that the road is fixed. You can see the pace of work going on, that we are not relenting in our effort to deliver the road on specification”, he said.
Some of the road users who spoke with our correspondent, said they were happy over the level of work done by the company to make the road useable.
A commercial bus driver, Mr Udosen Jonah, said he was happy over the ongoing construction work on the road, which has lessened the heavy traffic.
Another commercial taxi driver, Mr Akpoden Idum, commended the company for the work done so far. He called on the government to fasttrack the construction work to ease the pains of the road users.
An Okada rider, who gave his name as Mr Igwe, also expressed hope that the sufferings would soon be put to an end following the speed of construction work going on. He called on the company to maintain their commitment to the construction work.
It could be recalled that in the recent past, the Akpajo-Refinery Junction axis of the East-West Road had deteriorated so badly thereby constituting difficulties to the road users.
Passengers had to trek from Akpajo Junction to Refinery junction to avoid the heavy traffic grid lock.
