Cleric Admonishes Parents At Ahiauzu’s Thanksgiving
A clergyman, Ven. Christian U. Bella has admonished parents not to curse their children but rather bless them no matter the offence they commit.
Ven Bella gave the advice in a sermon he delivered during a thanksgiving service in honour of Professor (Dame) Blessing Ahiauzu who was recently elevated to the rank of Professor of Library and Information Management at the Rivers State University , Nkpolu Oroworukwo in Port Harcourt, last weekend, at Christ Church.
The man of God said it was right to shower blessings on children to help them come up successfully, adding “no matter where you find yourself, you should have hope in God. If you look unto God, He will take you to your destination”.
“No matter what your child does, always give him or her blessing as they will come out successful”.
According to him, “going by the Professor Blessing’s testimony, history is being repeated in her life. God rewrites history and a miracle shall take place in her life by her testimony”, and paid glowing tribute to late Engr Victor Masi and others who supported her to attain the feat.
The cleric who took his text from Psalm 116:12 with the theme “what shall I render unto the Lord for all His benefits towards me?”, urged Prof Ahiauzu to also make more professors through her position and enjoined all to be focused.
In her testimony, Professor Blessing Ahiauzu said “the family broke out of the shell to do the thanksgiving because of the amazing favour of God that overwhelmed them in the last few months.
Reflecting on the most recent favours the family received from God, which included miraculous healing, travelling mercies, gift of grand children, office favour, career promotion, among others, she on behalf of the family thanked God for His gift of life, protection, love and blessings upon them.
