Community Partners RIWAMA On Sanitation
The Committee on Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), Chinwo Town, Port Harcourt has pledged to partner the Rivers State Waste Management Agency to ensure regular desilting of drains in the area.
Chairman of the committee, Prince William Chinwo, disclosed this in an exclusive interview with The Tide, shortly after its inaugural meeting.
Prince Chinwo also said that the committee will ensure regular sanitation exercise in the community, stressing that, waste bins will be placed at strategic locations to ensure that the community is not littered with refuse.
Prince Chinwo said that the committee is working on arrangements to ensure that vehicles are not parked at unauthorised places, while pedestrians will be encouraged to avoid the middle of the road to avoid accident.
According to him, it is the plan of the committee to ensure that decency returns to Chinwo Town and its environs, adding that, even hawking of goods in the community will not be allowed.
Prince Chinwo commended Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike for the construction of roads and drainages in the community, adding that the development has boosted the support of the people to Governor Wike.
