RSG Cancels Sanitation Exercise, ‘Morrow
The Sole Administrator, Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA), Bro. Felix Obuah, has announced the cancelation of this month’s monthly sanitation exercise billed to hold tomorrow.
Obuah, in a statement, by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Jerry Needam, however, said the cancellation of the monthly exercise does not preclude residents from cleaning their homes and surroundings.
The RIWAMA boss particularly urged residents and all those doing business in Port Harcourt, the state capital, its environs and in the various local government areas, to ensure that their surroundings are clean and dispose of their waste at the government approved receptacles.
Obuah said the agency was doing everything possible to ensure that the state remains at the peak of waste management and environmental cleanliness.
The sole administrator also called on Rivers people and all residents in the state, particularly all those who have not registered and have attained the age of 18, to take advantage of the cancellation of Saturday’s monthly sanitation exercise and participate in the ongoing INEC Voters Registration Exercise which commenced, yesterday, in the various LGAs nationwide, including Rivers State.
