Church Lauds RVHA For Supporting Wike’s Administration

The Vicar incharge of Saint Andrew’s Anglican Church, Mile I Diobu, Port Harcourt, Ven. Boma Briggs has commended the leadership style of the Rivers State House of Assembly (RVHA) for their support for Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike’s administration.
Ven. Briggs who made the commendation last Tuesday during an interactive section between church leadership and the state Assembly members in Port Harcourt, described Rt Hon. Ibani as the most outstanding speaker of the House, since the inception of democracy in the state.
According to the Vicar the 8th Assembly in less than two years has recorded remarkable achievements in lawmaking leading to the lofty developmental strides of Governor Nyesom Wike’s administration in the state.
He said the achievements of any government depend on the leadership of the legislative arm of government as well as relationship with other organs of government.
Ven Briggs commended the speaker for ensuring that there is unity among the lawmakers, irrespective of their parties platforms and used the opportunity to solicit for the intervesition of the House and security agencies in the state of criminals in the Diobu area of Port Harcourt.
Ven Briggs appealed to House to find alternative means of controlling the increasing rate of mentally deranged persons and beggars roaming the streets of Port Harcourt.
In his response, the speaker of the State Assembly, Rt. Hon. Iunyi-Owaji Ibani expressed the need to liaise with security agencies to rid the area of criminality.
The speaker promises that the House would revisit the state social rehabilitation law to check the increasing rate of beggars, mad persons and persons living with disability on the streets of Port Harcourt.
He commended the church for their prayers and support to the State Government and its programmes.
