NIPR President Lauds C’River Chapter
The President and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Dr Rotimi Olade, has lauded the Cross Rivers State Chapter of the Institute for conscientiously and consistently implementing all her programmes in the last eight years.
Oladele, who stated this in an address at the 2016 Annual General Meeting Edwin Eja Memorial Lecture Awards and Dinner at the main Dome of Calabar Municipal Garden, pointed out that the chapter had consistently held executive and general meetings every month, holding of annual general meetings, elections and Edwin Eja Memorial lectures as at when due .
The President, who was represented by the National Vice President of NIPR, Alhaji Muktar Sirajo, commended the immediate past Executive committee led by Obongawan Obo Mesembe Edet for the monumental achievements during her tenure, and commended members of the Chapter for the peaceful and mature elections, which saw the emergence of Ntunkae Offiong Ani-Offiong as the new state chairman of NIPR in Cross Rivers State.
In her valedictory speech, the immediate past chairman of the institute in the state, Chief Obo Mesembe Edet said since taking over office in 2012, the chapter has progressed smoothly with all her activities, including regular executive and general meetings, regular attendance at National Conferences and Annual General meetings, successful organisation of annual general meetings.
As well as the Mandatory Continuing Professional Development (MCPD) Trainings, annual children’s day with NIPR and the five –day Africa Public Relations Association (APRA) conference, which took place in Calabar International Convention Centre.
The Chairman of the Dinner Awards night, Retired Air Vice Marshall Eko Osim commended the State chapter for the laudable initiative of the Image House Project and urged other professional bodies to emulate the Cross Rivers Chapter of NIPR.
The Dinner featured presentation of the 2016 NIPR Service Award to Brigadier-General Anthony Ukpo (rtd) of Asiukpo Diagnostic Centre, Calabar and Head of the Civil Service of the Federation Mrs Winifired Oyo-Ita as well as service award to deserving members of the institute that contributed hugely to the success of the Obo Memsembe Edet-led administration in the institute.
