Obuah Mourns Saro-Wiwa Jr
The Rivers State
Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bro, Felix Obuah, has described the death of Ken Saro-Wiwa Jr as profoundly shocking .
Obuah, in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Jerry Needam in Port Harcourt, further said the demise of Saro-Wiwa Jr., a journalist, and son of the late environmentalist, Ken Saro-Wiwa, is a big blow not only to the Ogonis and Rivers State but all Nigeirans and minorities of the world.
The PDP chairman added that by the death of Ken Saro-Wiwa Jnr, Ogoni and Rivers State have lost a worthy patriot, having served in the Presidency first, under former President Olusegun Obasanjo, President Umaru Yar’Adua, and later, President Goodluck Jonathan.
Regretting that the passing away of Ken Saro-Wiwa Jr. has left a big vacuum difficult to fill in the struggle for minority and environmental rights, Obuah, however, condoled with the Ogonis over the sad and unfortunate incident, noting that God gives and God takes.
He prayed God to give the Wiwa family, Ogonis, Rivers people and Nigerians at large the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
