OPM Baptises Former Sex Workers

The General Overseer of
Omega Power Ministries (OPM), Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, has administered water baptism on the 38 sex workers that were rehabilitated by the church as part of measures to lead them to salvation.
It would be recalled that the 38 sex-workers a month ago abandoned their ignoble trade and followed the man of God when he visited a brothel in Azikiwe Street, Port Harcourt to preach the word of God to them.
Performing the ceremony at the church headquarters in Port Harcourt, the General Overseer told the new converts to see themselves as new creatures in Christ Jesus, adding that everybody at some points had tasted sin, but through the mercies and redemption in Christ, their sins were forgiven.
He pointed out that he led a sinful life in the past but God in His mercies visited and lifted him to an exalted position in the society.
The General Overseer said that no matter the degree of their sins that God had forgiven them if truly they had repented.
He stated that the construction of OPM cathedral, huge cost of feeding and clothing, provision of accommodation in comfortable estates as well as shops and wares for the new converts were a great sacrifice from members of the church, stressing that they would certainly reap from God in due season.
Chinyere maintained that he would never regret the volume of money spent in the rehabilitation and maintenance of the new converts in spite of the economic recession in the country, adding that should God request him to vacate his beautiful residence and relocate under a flyover bridge in order to save a soul, he would do it without thinking twice.
“Heaven is happy with a single soul that repented and turned to God. Nothing could be of more value to God than doing those things that will make Him happy”, he said.

Rivers Judiciary Denies Issuing Court Order Stopping SOLAD from Swearing in RSCSC Members
The Rivers State Judiciary has denied a media report claiming that Justice Frank Onyiri of the State High Court issued an injunction order restraining the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), from inaugurating the newly appointed members of the Rivers State Civil Service Commission (RSCSC).
In a statement issued by the Deputy Chief Registrar in charge of litigation at the High Court, Menenen Poromon (Esq), the state Judiciary disassociated itself from the report, describing it as malicious and fabricated.
The statement emphasized that the report was a falsehood and a misrepresentation of what transpeared in the court.
Poromon clarified that no such order was issued by Justice Onyiri or any other judge of the High Court of the state and urged the public to disregard the information, as it lacked any iota of truth.
The statement however advised the public to verify any information concerning the state Judiciary directly from the office of the Chief Registrar, High Court of the State, to avoid spreading of misinformation.
